The goal of Yu-Gi-Oh Millennium (2 to 4 players, ages 7 and up) is to collect all five pieces of the Millennium Puzzle. Each player begins the game with one piece; the other pieces are placed in the Arena. In order to win the puzzle pieces, players challenge each other to duels in the Arena.
Each player has a unique Slider Reader, a plastic piece into which monster cards slide to help conduct the duels. Each reader is unique; the same monster will give different results in different readers.
The Slider Readers and monster slider cards are used for the duels in the Arena, which are fought for pieces of the Millennium Puzzle. Outside the Arena, players battle each other for control of the monster slider cards.
There are three types of battles in Yu-Gi-Oh Millennium -- Paper, Rock, Scissors; War; and Dice. Paper, Rock, Scissors is exactly what you'd expect. War involves the use of trap tiles which each player collects and is almost totally random; Dice involves rolling the duel dice three times each and is totally random.
Play continues until one player has won all of the Millennium Puzzle pieces by winning arena duels against the other players.
