Designed by Richard Garfield; published by Immortal Eyes Games; 2 players; ages 10 and up; $17 (approximate)

Pecking Order was the first game released by Winning Moves Games' new imprint for strategy games, Immortal Eyes Games. Each player begins with an identical set of cards: a team of birds with strengths ranging from 1 to 12 and a single jaguar. A board between the players includes perches ranging in value from 1 to 10. The first card played on a perch is always played face down; when a second card is played on a perch, the stronger bird wins control. If either player (or both) plays the jaguar, the two cards on that perch are discarded. By playing cards well and correctly predicting where his opponent has played cards, a player can claim victory. After each player has played all 13 cards, the one who controls a greater total of perch points wins.
