Top 3 Best Game-Related Comics

By Erik Arneson, About.com

Comics and games seem like a natural pairing. Games like Marvel HeroClix show that the two worlds can intersect in such a way that produces good games. And these comics show that the same can be true in reverse.

1. Dork Tower

Dork Tower mixes wargames and roleplaying games with a generous dose of humor. First published in 1997, Dork Tower is written and illustrated by John Kovalik.

2. Larry Leadhead

Larry Leadhead likes to play wargames, and his wife puts up with his hobby... usually. First published in 1994, Larry Leadhead is written and illustrated by Doug Hamm and Eric Hotz.

3. Nodwick

Nodwick is a henchman, the kind of assistant that any good roleplayer would like to have -- one willing to be beaten, mutilated and beheaded, all with a relatively good attitude. Nodwick is written and illustrated by Aaron Williams. If you enjoy the comic, be sure to try Nodwick: The Card Game, which is quite fun.
