The Star Wars Epic Duels game allows fans to pit almost any Star Wars character against another. Game play takes place on one of four battle venues and players chose their character from one of 30-plus painted figures. Each character comes with its own card deck and strategy." The game allows players to pit a wide variety of Star Wars characters against each other. So you could have Boba Fett face off against Darth Maul. Or Darth Maul vs. Darth Vader. Luke Skywalker vs. Yoda. Yoda vs. the Emperor. Han Solo vs. Luke Sywalker. My mind reels. The four battle venues include the carbon-freezing room on Bespin, the Emperor's Throne Room, plus two from Attack of the Clones. Epic Duels is for ages 8 and up; 2 or 4 players. UPDATE: Read my review of Epic Duels. Jedi Unleashed From a Hasbro press release: "Relive the climactic battle scene in Attack of the Clones in the Jedi Unleashed game. The Jedi have been lured into a trap on the planet of Geonosis. In this game, players play both Jedi (trying to survive against unassailable forces) and the bad guys (trying to destroy opposing Jedi). When Yoda reaches the planet, the surviving Jedi who destroyed the most 'bad guys' wins." Jedi Unleashed is for ages 8 and up; 2 to 5 players. UPDATE: Read my review of Jedi Unleashed. Star Wars Stratego This game adds the Star Wars universe to a cross between classic Stratego and the recent Stratego Legends in which pieces have magical powers. Powers here include leaping, advanced blaster, vision and charging. According to a Hasbro spokesman, "The game comes with a good army and an evil army, pre-selected (no random sets or boosters or additional purchases). You can play the full-on 'Saga' game (characters from all the Star Wars movies except Episode III) or just play one trilogy or the other. (You could play Episodes IV, V and VI or Episodes I and II.)" Star Wars Stratego is for 2 players. UPDATE: Read my review of Star Wars Stratego. The Game of Life - A Jedi's Path From Hasbro press releases: The objective of this game is to finish with the most skill tiles (Logic, Intuition, Fighting, and Energy). Just as in the original Game of Life, players spin the wheel and move their tokens along the path. Here, each landing spot is a challenge -- a mission, a battle, a test, an opportunity to build your light saber: all challenges that Jedi apprentices had to endure on their way to becoming accomplished Jedi Knights. As players move their aspiring Jedi around the board (passing tests, doing battle, learning lessons, going on missions, and building their light-sabers), they build their connection to the Force. Players can choose the Jedi Path or the riskier (but quicker) Dark Path. At the end of the game, the mightiest Jedi and the darkest Sith square off to determine the most powerful Force-user in the Galaxy. The Game of Life - A Jedi's Path is for ages 8 and up; 2 to 4 players. Jango Fett's Target Game Jango Fett is a bounty hunter introduced in Attack of the Clones. Armed with wrist shooters that fire foam discs, players in this game compete to hit the most targets. Jango Fett's Target Game should sell for about $15; ages 8 and up; 1 or more players. Due in April 2002. Electronic Battleship - Star Wars Edition From a Hasbro press release: "In the deep reaches of space, two of the most awesome space fleets ever assembled are coming into contact. In this corner of the Galaxy, the fate of an empire hangs in the balance. The Star Wars fantasy comes to life in Electronic Battleship - Star Wars Edition. Each player has an armada of vessels, ready to hunt down and destroy the enemy. Special weapons like Ion Cannons, Turbo lasers, and Tractor Beams all come into play. The game comes with Star Wars sound effects and detailed miniatures of the vessels." Electronic Battleship - Star Wars Edition is for ages 8 and up; 2 players. Star Wars Trading Card Game - Attack of the Clones From a Hasbro press release: This Wizards of the Coast game's innovative mechanic enhances the rich Star Wars experience by allowing players to plan and execute the high-stakes gambits and intense action of a climactic Star Wars battle. Card sets (one Light side, one Dark side) for the Star Wars TCG will draw content from every Star Wars era. The first Star Wars trading card game release, which includes content from Attack of the Clones, is designed by Richard Garfield. The game comes in a starter set and five-card booster packs; for ages 10 and up; 2 players. This feature was originally published in February 2002.
