Pressman Toy Corporation will produce a board game based on the hit television show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" The game, announced in the Gamers Alliance Report Winter 2000 issue, is scheduled to be published in spring 2000.
In other "Millionaire" news, Tiger Electronics recently announced that "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" led its spring lineup with a game unveiled at the 2000 American International Toy Fair in New York City on Monday, Feb. 14, 2000.
According to a press release from Tiger, a special appearance by host Regis Philbin helped kick off Tiger's electronic tabletop and hand-held versions of the game.
The tabletop game allows players to go head-to-head playing "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?," featuring the same music and drama that drives the action of the TV quiz show. This version lets up to six players compete by answering actual game show questions in a wide range of topics. The approximate retail price will be $32.99, and the game is suggested for ages 8 and up. It is expected to be available in fall 2000.
If you can't wait that long, try Tiger's hand-held version, due out in spring 2000. This version only supports one player. The approximate retail price will be $24.99, and the game is suggested for ages 8 and up.
"'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' has captured America's attention," said Roger Shiffman, president of Tiger Electronics. "All you have to do is look at the nightly ratings to see how important the show is. Our unique format of the game allows players to feel as if they are part of the action."
