Basic Information:
Origins Game Fair, formerly known as Origins International Game Expo, was founded in 1977. Origins is the official convention of the Game Manufacturers Association. It's a 24-hour game convention, but also family friendly. Just about every style of game is played at Origins.

The Origins International Game Expo takes place at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.

What You'll See:
Origins is absolutely packed with events for collectable card games (CCGs), live-action roleplaying games (LARPs), miniatures games, roleplaying games (RPGs), tabletop and traditional games, a wide variety of seminars, special events including independent film screenings, and more. Participating in events usually costs additional money.
The exhibit hall, filled with game publishers showing off their products, is open to attendees at no additional cost.

Special pre-registration prices are available for parents, clubs and organizations.
Accommodations:
Numerous hotels are within walking distance of the Columbus Convention Center, including The Columbus, Courtyard by Marriott, Crowne Plaza, DoubleTree, Drury Inn, Hampton Inn, Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Red Roof Inn, and University Plaza Hotel.
Parking:
Plenty of parking is available at the convention center and in garages withing walking distance. Rates do not appear to be available online.
