The card games Escalation! (ages 10 and up, 2 to 6 players, about 15 minutes) and Arne Junior (ages 5 and up, 2 to 4 players, about 10 minutes) are new from Z-Man Games in 2007; Saboteur is a great game which Z-Man previously published.
Escalation!'s theme is classic suburbia: unreturned tools, loud neighbors, and garden gnomes. The gameplay is simple, as one player opens with a card or cards and announces the value played. The next player plays cards that surpass that value, and so on, until a player doesn't wish to or can't go higher. When that happens, the player takes the stack of cards as a penalty.
