Mix Up and Cover Up are abstract games, the first two in Out of the Box Publishing's new series of "Masterpiece Games."

In Cover Up (designed by Elliot Rudell, who also designed UpWords), players add discs to a 5x5 board, trying to be the first to get four in a row. The twist is that some discs are smaller than others -- and those can be covered up by the larger discs.

In Mix Up (designed by Maureen Hiron), the goal is also to get four in a row, but the gameplay is quite different. Here, players are working to match either shape or color. Tiles are played on a vertical plastic board, sliding down to the lowest available space of the column.

Each game is for 2 players, ages 8 and up, about 15 minutes to play.
