At the 2005 American International Toy Fair in New York City, the Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards included recognition for Scene It? as Game of the Year.

The TOTY Awards were introduced in 2000 by the Toy Industry Association to "create the most inclusive toy event of the year, with representatives from the entire industry participating to salute the success, creativity and playful spirit of the toy industry." Categories include Game of the Year, Preschool Toy of the Year, Girl Toy of the Year, Boy Toy of the Year, Outdoor Toy of the Year, Educational Toy of the Year, Activity Toy of the Year, Electronic Entertainment Toy of the Year, Most Innovative Toy of the Year, Specialty Toy of the Year, and Property of the Year. Other game-related products were found in nominees for the following categories: Boy Toy of the Year
