RADGames was at the 2005 American International Toy Fair promoting their "Super Add-Ons Monopoly Version," scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2005 and sell for $24.95.
The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Feb. 23, the final day of Toy Fair.
"We take all infringements against our brands very seriously," said Frank Bifulco, president of Hasbro's U.S. Games division, in a press release. "Hasbro is diligent about responding to trademark infringements that create confusion for consumers and retailers of our toys and games. RADGames was showing its product at Toy Fair so we have taken action to stop it."
A flyer for RADGames promotes the Super Add-Ons Monooly Version as "bring[ing] new life to your Monopoly game. Accelerate game play with exciting new moves, new action cards, and all new properties." The flyer also mentions "all new houses and hotels" and "two levels of game play."
According to the flyer, RADGames was awarded U.S. Patent 5,810,359 for the Super Add-Ons Monpoly Version.
