5th Avenue is scheduled for release in mid-July; at the same time, the company plans to restock Halli Galli, Maharaja, and Ricochet Robots.
Master Thieves, a beautiful game delivered in a wooden box and based on a lovely wooden jewelry box, will be completed soon with an expected release date in August. Because of the high cost of this game, the small size of the print run, and its collectibility, it will be available only through Rio Grande Games. Details on purchase will be made available prior to its release.
Rio Grande has completed work on Dawn Under (a finalist for the Spiel des Jahres, Germany's Family Game of the Year award), High Bohn Plus (the first of two Bohnanza expansions planned for this fall), Goldbrau (a new investment game from Franz-Benno Delonge), Circus Flohcati (from Reiner Knizia), and Fearsome Floors (a reprint of Friedemann Friese's Finstere Flure). All of these games are scheduled for release in September and October 2004.
Rio Grande is also working on a new stand-alone Carcassonne game (the title and more information will be announced in September) and a new Carcassonne expansion (also with details coming in September) scheduled for release in October.
Scheduled for release in October or November are reprints of Torres (with new graphics by Franz Vohwinkel) and Tikal, along with the second promised Bohnanza expansion (details due in September).
Other new games due out by the end of the year include Mall World by Andrea Meyer (an entirely new game), Jambo by Rudiger Dorn (a two-player game), a new game from Friedemann Friese, an underwater game from Leo Colovini, and an expansion for Power Grid with maps of Italy and France.
According to a Rio Grande Games newsletter, High Bohn Plus contains new game variants for Bohnanza, plus two new bean types: the cognac bean and the field bean.
In Dawn Under, vampires are searching for a dark resting place before dawn arrives. Despite the horror theme, it's a memory game designed to be enjoyed by 2 to 6 children and adults. Each game takes about 30 minutes.
Jambo is from the Kosmos line of two-player games. Players are traders competing to sell tea, fruits, silk, etc., so that they are the first to earn 60 gold pieces. Recommended for ages 10 and up, each game takes about 30 minutes. Designer Rudiger Dorn also designed The Traders of Genoa, Goa, and Emerald.
Goldbrau finds players in a beer festival, competing to increase the size of their favorite beer gardens. It's for 3 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, and takes about 60 minutes per game. Designer Franz-Benno Delonge also designed Big City, TransAmerica, Hellas and Dos Rios.
