Question: If one property is mortgaged, what happens to others that I own in that color gr

Answer: Nothing.

You continue to collect rent on the unmortgaged properties like normal. This also means that you continue to collect double rent on any unimproved, unmortgaged properties if you own all the properties in a particular color group.
