The best three games of 2004 as voted on by the memebrs of Spielfrieks are:
All three are excellent games. Ticket to Ride challenges players to build trains across the U.S. and Canada, Power Grid finds players competing to supply cities with power, and Goa is a strategy game set at the start of the 16th century.

The 2004 Meeples Choice process included two rounds of voting. The first narrowed a list of 125 games down to 25 finalists. Members of Spielfrieks then voted for three of the finalists.
The final top 10 also included:
(There was a tie for 10th place.)
Ticket to Ride was tops on my list of the Top 10 Games Published in 2004, and Power Grid was sixth.
