Fantasy Flight Games will be the U.S. publisher of The Lord of the Rings board game designed by Reiner Knizia. The company also will release an expansion for the LotR board game entitled Friends and Foes and a new The Hobbit board game.

This two-player game was published by Rio Grande Games (U.S.) and Kosmos (Germany). In The Search, Frodo and Sam must find Mount Doom so they can destroy the One Ring. They begin their journey in the Shire and explore Middle Earth.
