Harry Potter is a bona fide superstar, and it's only fitting that he get his own board game. After all, if a flash-in-the-pan like Morton Downey Jr. can have a board game (and he did)...

In Mystery at Hogwarts, published by Mattel, players work to determine who cast which secret spell and where it was done. Moving through the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft, exploring secret passages and hidden rooms, players uncover clues.

At the same time, a ghost is moving through the school trying to disrupt the players' efforts.

When someone thinks they've solved the mystery, they head to the third-floor corridor (guarded by Fluffy) to make a guess. A correct guess wins the game, but an incorrect guess gets you expelled.

Mystery at Hogwarts, which is for two to six players ages 6 and up, was described by one gamer who had a chance to play it as a variation on Clue.

Judging from the list of game pieces, it seems to at least have some significant differences from that classic whodunit game. Mystery at Hogwarts comes with 1 board, 1 card holder, 6 movers, 1 ghost piece, 10 Hogwarts cards, 9 room cards, 6 character cards, 4 spell cards, 2 potion cards, a checklist pad, 2 dice, and rules.

Mystery at Hogwarts is the first in a planned series of games with Potter as the star.
