For the Axis & Allies Miniatures Game, a new 1939-1945 set was announted. It will be available in November 2007 ($16.99 for a starter set; $10.99 per booster) and includes 60 detailed battlefield miniatures randomized with varying degrees of rarity. The starter set for 2 players, ages 12 and up, contains 10 minis and corresponding stat cards, two double-sided poster maps, eight dice, a set checklist and a rulebook. Boosters include five figures each.
Also announced was a new board game, Axis & Allies: Guadalcanal, to be published under the Avalon Hill imprint and scheduled for release in October 2007. For 2 to 3 players, ages 12 and up, the game has a suggested retail price of $50.
A&A game designer Larry Harris developed the elaborate, campaign-level board game which will feature nearly 300 individual components. Players can recreate the Allies' first major Pacific offensive in detail.
