Tannhauser, published by Fantasy Flight Games, boasts an innovative method of determining line of sight. Each space on the board is represented by a circle, and the color or colors of the circle determine line of sight. For example, if you're in a yellow circle, you can see every other yellow circle on the board.

The victory conditions for each game can vary depending on the type of game chosen by the players. In Death Match Mode, the last team with any characters still standing wins the game. In Story Mode, each team has a set of main objectives and secondary objectives. The first team to complete both main objectives, or one main objective and two secondary objectives, wins.

Fantasy Flight has announced plans to publish Tannhauser expansions.
