The choices for 2000's holiday season are all wonderful games. I firmly believe there is a game out there for everyone, and I hope this year's Gift Guide inspired you to find some for the people on your list.
If you have any questions or comments, please post a note in the Board Games Forum.
If you want to give inexpensive games as stocking stuffers, consider these:
Chief Herman's Holiday Fun Pack
The Great Brain Robbery
Dia de Los Muertos
Finally, the list below is the games I bought for my family this year (all of whom I would describe as casual gamers). You may notice that not all of them are included in the Gift Guide -- that's a testament to the fact that games from previous years still make great gifts!
Cheapass Games
Various numbers of players
Various ages
Almost three dozen games, including four board games, are packed into one small and inexpensive package. Stumpy the Cave Boy and Galaxy, a pair of strategy games, are among the best of the bunch. If you're buying games anyway, you might as well add this one to the order. $5 to $7. Learn more with a peek at the game file.
Cheapass Games
3 to 7 players
Ages 10 and up
You're a zombie on board a train full of brains, trying to take home the best one. Of course, the train is falling apart and your zombie friends are trying to beat you up and steal your brain for themselves. $5 to $7.
Sacred Chao Games
3 or 4 players
Ages 10 and up
A card game based on The Day of the Dead, a three-day celebration in Mexico. The object of the game is to provide food for the dead during the celebration. Though I've not yet played it, I do have a great deal of respect for the designer (Frank Branham) and one of the playtesters (Mark Jackson), so I have high hopes for Dia de Los Muertos. Early feedback from a couple of gamers who have played is quite positive. $7 to $8.
Happy Holidays!
