Email Version of Upwords Available
Added Sept. 3, 1999
Upwords, the game that adds a third dimension to Scrabble, is now available through Hasbro's Em@il Games Web site. It is only available online, according to a company press release.
Upwords, for up to four players, is a 3-D word game where players stack letters to build layers of crosswords for the most points. The basic concept is similar to Scrabble, but players are also allowed to build on a word already on the board. For example, the word "pack" could be transformed to "back." Upwords is Hasbro's fourth Em@il Games title, following Scrabble, Battleship and Grandmaster Chess. The company has announced plans to introduce several more games this year, including Clue, Risk, NASCAR, NFL Football, and an e-mail version of the MicroProse CD-ROM game X-Com.
