The game follows Frodo and Sam as they must find Mount Doom in order to destroy the One Ring. Their journey begins in the shire and continues throughout Middle Earth. Along they way, they will meet companions like Gandalf to aid them in their search.

The game's artwork is provided by John Howe. It is designed by Peter Neugebauer, recommended for ages 10 and up, and plays in 30 to 40 minutes.

Neugebauer also designed the dice game Zocken and the card game Kleine Fische.

Also now shipping from Rio Grande is the board game Shark, in which players are managers of international corporations who speculate with their own and competitors' stocks. Shark sells for about $35, is designed by Jean Vanaise, for 2 to 6 players, ages 10 and up; it plays in 45 to 60 minutes.
