"I pose a very difficult question for everyone. What is the greatest board game ever?"
The Guru 5

A new episode of The Board Room, a webcast television program, takes a look at Alan Calhamer's classic board game Diplomacy, which some gamers believe is the best game ever. (It's on my list of Desert Island Games.)

Guest gamer Keith Amman and hosts Bob Schwartz and Drew Kail demonstrate the latest version of Diplomacy, published by Avalon Hill. The game is for 2 to 7 players, with each taking the role of a military leader in Europe in 1901. To win, a player must control a majority of the supply centers on the map.

No dice are involved, and since little can be accomplished on your own, your ability to negotiate is vital to any success.

Diplomacy is recommended for ages 12 and up, and takes an absolute minimum of four hours to play.
