The Games Journal Web Site Debuts

More News

Greg Aleknevicus and Frank Branham, two very active gamers, have announced the creation of The Games Journal, a new Web site "borne out of the ashes of the short-lived but excellent Games Cafe" site.

Share your thoughts about this news and anything else related to board games on the Board Games Forum.

The Games Journal, found at http://www.thegamesjournal.com/, is planned to be a monthly Internet publication devoted to general boardgames articles. Aleknevicus and Branham (that latter of whom runs The Gaming Dumpster) obtained the permission of Games Cafe editor Burt Hochberg and many of the authors who had contributed to The Games Cafe, and have archived many of the articles which first appeared on that site.

(The Games Cafe closed its doors in late May.)

"It's our intention to continue to publish the type of general purpose articles that were (in our opinion) the best part of The Games Cafe," Aleknevicus said in a press release. "Whereas The Games Cafe was a commercial site, The Games Journal is a volunteer effort. ... As such we'd love to receive any submissions that you might deem to send us."

Email for The Games Journal can be sent to editor@thegamesjournal.com, while snail mail can be directed to: Editor, The Games Journal, c/o Greg Aleknevicus, 2737 Gamble Dr., Victoria, BC Canada V9B 4W4.
