At #11 is Reiner Knizia's Durch die Wuste (Through the Desert), which I recently obtained and hope to play soon. The pastel-colored camels have raised some eyebrows, but obviously the game has significant appeal. Sid Sackson's Acquire, recently reissued by Avalon Hill, checks in at #24.
Other selected games: Go placed at #34, Cosmic Encounter (to be reissued by Avalon Hill later this year) at #35, Torres (Games magazine's 2000 Game of the Year) at #54 (and moving up quickly, if i understand the scoring system properly), and Hare and Tortoise (the first winner of the Spiel des Jahres, to be reissued soon by Rio Grande Games) at #63.
Fuegi uses diffused average to determine a game's rank so that a handful of high votes don't skew the list and push a game that doesn't enjoy widespread popularity to the top. The system is based on a formula posted at his site. For information on how to vote, visit his site.
Fuegi also posts a complete list of all the games anyone has ever ranked, currently totalling 2,029 games. Last on the list is a game called Mind Duel, for which no additional information is available.
