Games featured in Issue 1 include Lines of Action, Bashne (the Russian game of column checkers), Kyoto Shogi, and Mentalis. These games will be revisited in succeeding issues, according to Handscomb. Other games to be covered in some detail include Hex, one of the more strategic Mancalas, and one of the larger chess variants. "A deciding factor in game coverage will be reader response," Handscomb added. Handscomb, who works full-time in the publishing industry, said the magazine's production quality is professional and of a high standard.
Subscription for one year (4 issues) is $22 in Canada, $23 in the U.S. and $26 elsewhere. (U.S. funds, Canadian dollars also accepted at the appropriate exchange rate.) Delivery by airmail is included. Canadian residents must add 7 percent GST.
