Oxford Dilemma
The object of Oxford Dilemma is to be the first to earn $10,000 or bankrupt all opponents as players move along a Victorian-themed game board. Players collect letters by correctly spelling and defining words arranged in four categories.
Oxford Dilemma is available for a suggested retail price of $29.95. The game is designed for 2 to 6 players, ages 12 and up.
Rockit to Number 1
In this music trivia game, players spin the record, choose a category, and answer the question. The Hit Single player token moves up the Top 20 with every correct answer, but players slide back to last week's position with a wrong answer. The first player to reach Number 1 in the charts wins.
Rockit to Number 1 has more than 3,000 rock 'n' roll and pop trivia questions in five categories (the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s+ and "It's Only Words," which challenges players to come up with the lyrics to classic songs.
Survivor: The Game
Former Survivor competitors Kimmi Kappenberg (Survivor: Australian Outback) and Ken Stafford (Survivor: Thailand) helped unveil this all-new party game based on the reality television series.
"We couldn't be more excited about debuting Survivor: The Game at the Toy Fair with actual castaways from the show," said Jean-Paul Teskey, president of Rumba Games. "Survivor: The Game will be a must for Survivor parties, but the product was designed with more than the hard-core fan in mind."
Subtitled "Reality for your Living Room," Survivor: The Game finds players forming tribes and competing against one another in immunity challenges until only one person remains. With more than 250 challenges, Survivor: The Game taps into players' hidden talents, resourcefulness and creativity.
Survivor remains one of the most-watched programs on television today. Slated to hit store shelves in fall 2003, in time for the premier of Survivor 7, this game will retail for approximately $24.95.
Trivia in a Trunk Series
Trivia in a Trunk titles due to be published in 2003 are: Movies of the 80s, Movies of the 90s, Movies of the 2000s, Fantasy and Science Fiction, Movie People, Holiday Movies and TV Trivia. Titles introduced during 2002 included The Beatles, Oscars, Book Lovers, and Action Movies.
Designed with the true trivia lover in mind, the games are packed in compact boxes and come with a scorecard instead of a board to maximize trivia play.
First introduced in 2002, the Trivia in a Trunk line will continue to expand each year, as trends in movies and music evolve, according to Rumba Games.
Urban Myth
A twist on trivia-based games, Urban Myth tests players' pop culture savvy as they judge whether or not 1,000 legendary stories are true or mere examples of urban legends.
"The response to Urban Myth has been overwhelming," said Rumba Games President Jean-Paul Teskey. "Consumers were snapping the game up so fast we couldn't keep up with the demand, and our warehouse ran out of the game very quickly." Teskey attributes the game's success to its design, gameplay and the depth of research that went into compiling the questions.
