The board consists of hexagonal tiles arranged in a star-like shape. See the image below.

You can play as the sans-culottes (the people), whose objective is to capture King Louis XVI; or as King Louis XVI and the Royal Army, whose objective is to make the King run away from France.

The people are represented by the triangles (in red). The King and his Army are represented by the circles (the yellow one is the King, and the blue ones are the Army). See the image below.

How to Play

Each player can make an action per turn, and then it's the other player's turn (the player representing the people starts the game). In your turn you can either:

  • Move: you can move one unit in your turn, by moving it to an free adjacent tile; or

  • Capture: you can capture an enemy unit by "jumping" over it and removing it from the game. You must capture a unit if it's possible. If there are two capturable units, choose one of them.

All units work alike, even the King; but only he can move to the yellow tiles.

Winning

The people player wins when he captures the King unit; and the King player wins when he moves the King unit to any of the yellow tiles in the points of the "star".

The Creator

My name is Thiago Migoto, 18 years old, and I am a wannabe game designer. I live in Brazil (Maringá, state of Paraná), and I've always loved board games. I created Louis XVI in the school to play with a friend (Márcio) during the classes.
