Acquire

Because it has simple rules; I've already thought of some variation rules; I like money.

Cathedral
A classic style game that reminds me of Chess and Go, but games are quick (average five minutes) and the game has simple tournament rules for when you have more than two players.

Conquest of the Empire
I like games with battles and conquering land. Set up is much faster than games like Risk and Axis & Allies, and there is also a neat currency system, with gold and silver coins and an inflation rate that can affect your strategy.

Clue: Master Detective
Much like the original Clue game, but more -- more weapons, more suspects, more rooms, more fun!

Settlers of Catan
Learn how to trade wisely with the others to get what you need to be the King of the Island! This game is simple, yet challenging enough for everyone to want to play more.

A couple of these games have been long standing favorites (Conquest of the Empire and Clue: Master Detective), while the others are fairly new to me, but all are fun and have variety enough to stay fun after many games. If I didn't have a restriction to only five games, I would probably throw in some of the Cheapass Games (they could fit inside a box with one of the other games anyway), but these are my top choices.
