Board Games Survivor Island - Amazon Edition
This week in the Board Games Survivor Island game, Settlers of Catan was eliminated -- leaving only two games on the island. Puerto Rico and Tigris and Euphrates are competing to be the sole survivor.
Games I Can See While Sitting At My Computer
The games I acquired at last weekend's auction of Sid Sackson's game collection -- look for a photo gallery sometime this week -- don't count because they're out in the living room. (I think Beth might be warming up to the idea of using our living room as an auxiliary game storage area.) But these four, all of which arrived in the mail recently, do.
Mystery of the Abbey
This new release of a game by Bruno Faidutti and Serge Laget is absolutely wonderful. Publisher Days of Wonder spared no expense, with a great board (that includes minor modifications from previous versions of the game), full-color suspect sheets for players to mark (which you can see below), molded plastic monk figures (also pictured below), a small bell to summon the monks to chapel, custom dice, and a full-size, full-color rules booklet.

About Something Else Site of the Week
The Matrix Reloaded is out soon, and About.com's Guide to Dramatic/Romantic Movies, Rebecca Murray, was on hand at the Los Angeles premier. She asked the stars some questions and took plenty of great photos. Check out the premier for The Matrix Reloaded.
Green Bay Packers Notes of the Week
Javon Walker (in his second year as a professional) and Robert Ferguson (third year) are going to compete to start at wide receiver opposite Donald Driver this season. With Terry Glenn traded to Dallas, both of the two young players will have to step up their game so that Brett Favre can have give legitimate targets to throw to (including tight end Bubba Franks and running back Ahman Green). If they can do that, Green Bay should improve on its miserable playoff performance last season.
Prediction: Driver will have another Pro Bowl season. Walker and Ferguson will combine for 100+ catches and 1,200+ yards.
Other Off-Topic Thoughts of the Week
I think Alias is a great television show. But how they plan to make next season be anything less than cheesy is beyond me. Ending this season with a "you've been missing for two years" plot twist will make it difficult... If it's Rob and Jenna in the final two of Survivor: Amazon, I think Rob wins. Here's my analysis... The announcement that the Indiana Jones trilogy is coming out on DVD actually gave me chills... 24 is still the best show on television.
