SMG this week can be described in three words: short and sweet.
Bitz Quiz
This quiz, published by Garry Lloyd of the Shrewsbury Boardgames Club, challenges players to identify a game based on a picture of a small part of the game board.

Board Games Survivor Island - Amazon Edition
This week in the Board Games Survivor Island game, 5 more games were eliminated -- Auction, Dune, Lord of the Rings, San Marco and TransAmerica.
Now, with 15 games remaining, they've been merged into three tribes. Three games will be eliminated this week -- go ahead and register your votes now.
About Board Games Forum Post of the Week
From Chris Brua:
What is it about golf that makes people want to design a board game for it? Is there really that high of a correlation between golf players and board gamers? Or is it more likely that there are a high percentage of golf fanatics in the country (world?) and a golf board game provides a gift opportunity for them?
Post your response in the About Board Games Forum.

About Something Else Site of the Week
The history of Russia is filled with fascinating personalities, such as Lenin, Stalin, Peter the Great, Rasputin, and Ivan the Terrible. About.com's Guide to European History, Robert Wilde, has compiled a list of the Top 10 Books About Russian Personalities.
Green Bay Packers Notes of the Week
The Pack took some big steps this week to improve their defense, signing unrestricted free agent Cletidus Hunt to a long-term contract, trading for cornerback Al Harris from the Philadelphia Eagles, and re-signing cornerback Bryant Westbrook. They also traded wide receiver Terry Glenn to the Dallas Cowboys for a draft pick in 2004. Meanwhile, free agent defensive lineman Vonnie Holliday fired his agents and is looking for new representation -- and there's a chance he could return to the Packers, although the Pack needs a solid linebacker or two more than they need help on the defensive line.
In all, a good week of roster moves to help strengthen the defense.
Other Off-Topic Thoughts of the Week
Superhero movies, given the success of X-Men, Spider-Man, and my personal favorite, Daredevil, are all the rage.
Movies in the works, according to UpcomingMovies.com, include X-Men 2, Iron Man, The Hulk, Spider-Man 2, Superman, Batman: Year One, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Fantastic Four, and Watchmen.
And I've read elsewhere that the process of creating a Daredevil sequel, plus a separate movie all about Elektra, has begun.
It's likely that some of these movies won't be out until at least 2005, if ever. But they appear to be active right now.
