It's a pretty quiet week here at SMG. The calm before the storm? I hope so... living in a world of boardgame storms is a very good thing.
Games I'm Playing
Finally, I'll break back into the world of actual game players today at 1 p.m. Look for a full report next week.
Games I Can See While Sitting At My Computer
Ack! I have no games near my computer today. I cleaned up last weekend nad have been too busy at work to clutter up our workspace again. I know that Beth will be very disappointed if I don't get some games up here quick, so that will be one of my weekend projects.

Email of the Week
From Brett Jenkins at Flashback Games:
Flashback is a trivia board game based on television sitcoms from the 70's, 80's, and early 90's. Unlike all other trivia games, Flashback's patented process offers choices of topic as well as level of difficulty on each turn. The game uses no dice and success is based on skill and strategy, not just overall theme knowledge. Players control their destiny.
Board Games Survivor Island Update
Survive!, a Parker Brothers game from 1982, got tossed into the ocean this week, leaving us with 10 games. Now, only one game on the island has zero votes against it: San Marco.
About Something Else Site of the Week
Halloween is just a few days away, so it's time to think about popping a scary movie into the DVD player or the VCR and snuggling up with a batch of popcorn. Sci-Fi Movie Guide Julia Houston lists her picks for the Top 10 Actually Scary Sci-Fi Movies.
Green Bay Packers Notes of the Week
We're now 6-1 and appear to have survived a horrible scare when Brett Favre had to leave the game with an injured knee. Thank goodness Ahman Green stepped up with his first-ever three TD game, helping keep the Washington Redskins at bay. The Packers now have
Prediction: Packers have the week off, so I predict that Favre goes to Mississippi to rest, comes back next Monday night and tosses 5 TDs.
Other Off-Topic Thoughts of the Week
My favorite actor on television right now is Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays Detective Robert Goren on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He was absolutely brilliant back several years ago in the Homicide subway episode, and every week he turns in a great performance on CI. He also has a long list of appearances in feature films, though I've seen few of those.
