Guide Review - PDQ - The Pretty Darn Quick Word Game
The card game PDQ is not only pretty darn quick, it's pretty darn simple -- and pretty darn fun. The basic game is enjoyable enough, but the rules also include nine variants that can be played with the same deck of 78 cards, including an option for solitaire play.
The basic rules call for a player to lay out three of the cards (e.g. P-N-A). All players then try to think of a word that's at least four letters long and incorporates all three of the displayed letters, in order from left to right or right to left (e.g. PiNbAll or ANteloPe).
The first player to do so wins those three cards, and three more are then laid out. When the deck is complete, the player with the most cards in front of him wins.
