Star Wars Jedi Unleashed

About.com Rating 3

By Erik Arneson, About.com

The Bottom Line

Not the height of strategic gaming, but very good for what it is -- a light game based on rolling dice.

Guide Review - Star Wars Jedi Unleashed

Players are dealt a team of Jedi, then set about the business of slaying enemies (mainly Geonosians and Battle Droids, but Count Dooku and Jango Fett are also on the board).

On each turn, players move one of their Jedi and attack one or more enemies. They can then move an enemy toward someone else's Jedi and try to injure that Jedi. One of the dice includes two sides with Yoda, and when Yoda is rolled his marker moves closer to Geonosis. When Yoda arrives, the game is over.

An advanced version introduces the reek, a monster which cannot be attacked but can do lots of damage himself. Played with the right group, Star Wars - Jedi Unleashed can be a lot of fun. But don't go in expecting any strategic depth.
