To mark the 25th anniversary of Simon, which was one of the very first electronic games, Hasbro will auction off Simon2 games signed by celebrity Simons.

The famous Simons include American Idol Judge Simon Cowell, Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon, Playwright Neil Simon, Tennessee Titan John Simon and Philadelphia Eagle Corey Simon.

Hasbro has announced that it will match winning bids from the auction, up to $25,000, with all proceeds going directly to the children's charity Boundless Playgrounds.

The auction will take place over a 10-day period from Friday, June 20, through Sunday, June 29, 2003. It will be a featured auction on eBay's home page, toy page and charity page during that time and be promoted by Hasbro, eBay and Boundless Playgrounds.

The auction is scheduled to feature 20 Simon-related items, including:

  • One Simon2 game signed by all participating celebrity Simons.

  • Five individually autographed games. These individual games will allow fans of a specific participating Simon to purchase a SIMON2 game signed by their favorite celebrity.

  • More than a dozen Simon anniversary packs, including a Simon2, Hand-held Simon, Simon2 t-shirt and Simon tote bag.

Boundless Playgrounds works with communities across the United States to facilitate the development of fully integrated, universally accessible playgrounds. The organization's goal is to ultimately have fully integrated, universally accessible playgrounds in reach of every child in America.
