The eligibility period for games in the General Strategy category is July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2003, which was changed this year from the previous "calendar year" method in order to better coincide with the major release dates of most European game companies. However, in order not to overlook the games released in the first half of 2002, a special award will be given to recognize the outstanding game released during that period. The winners in both of these categories will be announced in early June 2003.
Eligible games for Historical Simulations are those released during calendar year 2002.
