Richard Borg has designed some of the best games available today, including the Civil War game Battle Cry and the addictive Liar's Dice. Here are my picks for the top games designed by Richard Borg.
Various U.S. Civil War battles can be simulated in this game by using modular terrain. Fairly simple rules make it a great choice as an introductory wargame, but the strategy is deep enough that you'll definitely be back for more.
Perhaps the ultimate bluffing game, Liar's Dice challenges players to look into the eyes of their opponents and make outrageous claims with complete confidence. On a turn, a player predicts how many of a particular number has been rolled on all of the dice around the table -- but he only know what's on his own dice.
Set in the Wild West, Wyatt Earp is a rummy variant that finds players trying to capture notorious outlaws like Jesse James and Billy the Kid. Related to games released under the "Mystery Rummy" moniker, Wyatt Earp was designed with Mike Fitzgerald.
A tug-of-war game for two players set in Scotland. Through good card management, players try to move the barrel of whiskey acroiss their own line. The game has an off-center sense of humor, evidenced by occasional appearances from the Loch Ness Monster -- who can either help a team or eat it. Heave Ho! was released in Germany as How Ruck!
The Greek gods Hera and Zeus are not pleased with each other, and they aren't subtle about it in this game for two players. The gameplay is somewhat reminiscent of Stratego. Sometimes the luck factor is overwhelming, but more often it's a game of tactics and subtle strategies.
