The Bottom Line
Which pet has hidden which toy in the doghouse? That's the question in this scaled-down version of Clue. Clue Jr. is a solid introductory deduction game but it won't appeal much to adult players.
Pros
- A junior edition of the classic mystery game Clue.
- Checklists include drawings and words.
- Can help build deductive reasoning skills.
Cons
- Too few decisions to be made.
Description
- For 2 to 4 players.
- Designed for ages 5 to 8.
- Published by Parker Brothers / Hasbro.
Guide Review - Clue Jr.
There are five toys and five pets. Players work to discover which pet has taken which toy out to the doghouse. Each player has a pet on the bottom of his or her token, and four of the toys are waiting to be discovered under pieces of furniture.
A special die allows players to move through the house or to pick up another player's token to see what pet is hidden underneath. Unfortunately, the game provides only limited opportunity for players to make decisions as so much depends on the die roll. Still, young players will find a lot to like about Clue Jr.
