Lara Croft Tomb Raider - Board Game Preview

Thursday July 24, 2003
Werner Von Croy, Lara Croft's old mentor, has been murdered -- and she's a prime suspect. In the new Tomb Raider board game, available in Europe but not yet (to the best of my knowledge) in the United States, one player is Lara and another is Eckhardt. Both are trying to steal paintings from the Louvre, but they have different motivations.

Lara needs the paintings because a note in Von Croy's pocket led her to believe that they would help prove her innocence. Eckhardt wants them for nefarious reasons.

Up to four players can take part in Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Angel of Darkness. With two players, one is Lara and one is Eckhardt. With three, a second bad guy is introduced. With four, players work in two teams.

The Tomb Raider board game comes with four 3D plastic figures. The board is modular and tile-based, which means each game will have a different board layout. It's published by Identity Games in the Netherlands.
