For years, game designer Kevin Wilson was employed by publisher Fantasy Flight Games, responsible for such successful games as Descent: Journeys in the Dark (my pick as the #12 board game of the 2000s), Sid Meier's Civilization: The Board Game, and many more. (He played a key role in the company's update of the classic Cosmic Encounter.)
A few months ago, Wilson left the security of a full-time job to launch a career as a freelance game designer. He's been blogging about the transition at BoardGameGeek.com (part 1, part 2), and it makes for some fascinating reading. You can also follow him on Twitter @KevinWilson42.
I've enjoyed Wilson's games many times through the years and wish him the best in this new phase of his career.
