Eclipse, a strategy game designed by Touko Tahkokallio and published by Lautapelit.fi and Asmodée Editions, won the 2012 Golden Geek Award as Game of the Year. The award, announced during this year's BoardGameGeek.con, was voted on by the users of BoardGameGeek.com.
Eclipse also took home the honors as Strategy Game of the Year. But the most decorated game was King of Tokyo, designed by Richard Garfield and published by Iello, which won Best Family Game, Best Party Game and Best Children's Game. Garfield also won Best Card Game and Best Two-Player Game for Android: Netrunner, co-designed by Lukas Litzsinger and published by Fantasy Flight Games.
