Memo to Hasbro: Web Site Worse Now

Sunday November 23, 2008
Hasbro recently updated its company web site, most of which is just fine. But the new Customer Service section -- specifically the portion dedicated to game rules and other product instructions -- is much worse than it was in the previous version. It used to be that there were essentially 26 pages listing the rules available online, one for each letter of the alphabet. And each page was organized alphabetically.

Now, for reasons I cannot comprehend, the rules and instructions are split into many pages (you can only see 50 at a time), and they are not even listed alphabetically. One page has the following rules and instructions listed in this seemingly random order: Transformer Evil Vehicon Scavenger, Tie One On, Transformer Autobot Breakaway, Thumb Thing, Tonka Bubble Fire Truck, Transformers Energo Overcast, Tonka Dunes ATV. There is also no way to search the rules and instructions.

By posting so many rules and instructions online, Hasbro has created an incredible resource. But the new site design renders that resource all but useless.
