Kaleidos - New Edition Available Soon

Wednesday October 15, 2008
I have wanted to own a copy of Kaleidos, an extremely entertaining party game originally published in 1995, for about seven years. Unfortunately, the original version has been out of print and hard to find, so it is not yet part of my collection. But that will change soon. A new edition of Kaleidos is being released at the 2008 Essen Game Fair in Germany (scheduled for Oct. 23-26).

The rules of Kaleidos are simple: each player is given an identical drawing (the wonderful artwork really makes the game shine), and a letter is chosen. Players then have 60 seconds to note everything in the scene that starts with that letter. Objects appearing on multiple lists are each worth one point, those on just a single list are worth five each. After a set number of rounds, the winner is the player with the most points.

If you enjoy party games (especially games like Scrutineyes), I heartily recommend adding Kaleidos to your holiday wish list. You won't be sorry.
