Updated Auto Racing Game Due in November
Formula D, an updated version of the 1991 game Formula Dé, is scheduled to be available in early November, according to game publisher Asmodée Editions. "Formula D has been completely re-designed, the graphic contents have been updated and modernized, and each element has been thoughtfully revitalized to generate a more realistic gaming sensation," according to a company press release. "Players now enjoy beautifully painted cars, super-realistic gear levers, and many more hidden surprises."Formula D includes two courses, one based on the Monaco Grand Prix course and the other a city-based street course. (The street course rules include the possibility of angry residents shooting at the cars.) It also features two rulebooks, one for beginners and one for advanced players. Asmodée indicated that Formula D will be compatible with existing Formula Dé race courses. (At least 35 official course boards have been published.)
The original Formula Dé sold more than 100,000 copies worldwide. I am looking forward to playing Formula D, as I always enjoyed Formula Dé but have not played it as often as I would like to.
