Axis & Allies: Anniversary Edition Due in October

Wednesday July 30, 2008
A new edition of Axis & Allies, scheduled to be available in October 2008, will add Italy and China to the game. According to publisher Avalon Hill, Italy will be the third Axis nation while China will be operated by the U.S. player. Also new to the game: cruiser class ships, which will join the naval lineup. Axis & Allies: Anniversary Edition, which is being released to celebrate Avalon Hill's 50th anniversary, will come with an oversized game board (24 inches x 46 inches) and "deluxe" components. The game is designed by Larry Harris, the creator of Axis & Allies. It will come with more than 600 game pieces, two setup options (spring 1941 and spring 1942), and a 48-page rulebook. Axis & Allies: Anniversary Edition is for 2 to 5 players, ages 12 and up.

Larry Harris and the boys at Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast have done it again! I love this game. There a many new changes from the original that make the dynamics of the game more interesting.
