Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition Available Now

Saturday June 7, 2008
Game publisher Wizards of the Coast has declared today Worldwide Dungeons & Dragons Game Day in honor of the release of the 4th edition of the seminal roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons. WotC has said that the new 4th Edition rules "emphasize faster game play, offer exciting new character options, and reduce the amount of 'prep time' needed to run the game." The three core rulebooks needed to play D&D are the Player's Handbook, the Dungeon Master's Guide, and the Monster Manual. All three are now available

Hey Everyone.

Just for the record, after having bought the books, I am very dissapointed in the new rule set.

Things that should never be changed have been radically altered or noticably mising (What? Everyone can heal themsleves now? What? I can only cast a fireball once a day? What? No Bard, no Druid, no Monk, no Barbarian?) just so Hasbro can take more of our money for what appears to be an inferior product.

Oh well. Long live 3.5!

our group had a look at the 4th ed rules and decided to stick with 3.5, why bother to learn a set of rules which looks like a bad copy of 1st ed.
