Meeples Choice Award Winners

Tuesday July 4, 2006
The 2005 Meeples Choice Awards have been announced, and the three winners are: Caylus (designed by William Attia; published by Ystari Games and Rio Grande Games), Louis XIV (designed by Rudiger Dorn; published by Alea and Rio Grande Games) and Shadows Over Camelot (designed by Serge Laget and Bruno Cathala; published by Days of Wonder). The MCA winners are determined by members of the Spielfrieks discussion group, of which I serve as a moderator. The awards are presented in late June or early July so that all games released in the previous year have a fair chance at recognition. Shadows Over Camelot and Caylus were also #1 and #2 in my personal picks for the best board games of 2005.
