Games.com, formerly the only official place to play Monopoly online, along with other games like Boggle, Battleship and Yahtzee, has been acquired by AOL. None of those Hasbro games can be played on Games.com any longer, a fact which sparked an outcry from devoted fans. The good news is that the games are now available at Atari's web site, along with arcade classics like Asteroids and Centipede.

I’m having problems getting to the Atari site and playing. Have you built any Hotels on Ventnor Ave. yet, Erik?
I also got up this morning to play a little league yahtzee on the Atari sight, and yahtzee is no longer a choice. I played last night with no indication of a change. The site had recently revamped and was running well. We want our games back!

There’s a notice on the Atari website about this – Hasbro bought the online rights to Monopoly, Boggle and a bunch of the other games from Atari a few weeks ago… I haven’t been able to find them anywhere since, but maybe Hasbro will put them up on their site like Atari did when it acquired them. Here’s hoping!
