RADGames Selling Monopoly Add-On
Saturday December 3, 2005
An "add-on" designed to work with the game Monopoly is being sold this holiday season, despite Hasbro's attempts earlier in the year to shut down its publication. The Super Add-Ons Version for Monopoly, published by RADGames, is laid on the original game's board, taking up the middle area. The company's web site says the add-on "offers a whole new level of play and excitement, featuring additional properties, utilities, and action cards." The add-on sells for about $25. In February 2005, after seeing the add-on displayed at the American International Toy Fair, Hasbro filed a lawsuit against RADGames (to which RADGames responded); Hasbro was awarded a temporary restraining order. In April, however, a judge refused to enter a preliminary injunction, clearing the way for the add-on to be sold.
