Gerald McBoing Boing Game Due in October
Tuesday March 29, 2005
Gerald McBoing Boing, a Dr. Seuss creation who speaks in sound effects, will be the subject of a new game scheduled to be published in October and targeted to players ages 3 and up. McBoing Boing will also be the star of a new animated series starting this spring on Cartoon Network. According to publisher Endless Games, the board game will "allow children to join [6-year-old] Gerald on his series of adventures both big and small as he honks, whistles, clangs, toots and cuckoos through his day. The game will entertain and teach, using sound association to engage and involve its young players."
Mike Gasser, president of Endless Games, said, "Gerald is ... a great character to create a silly and innovative board game for this age group." The original 1951 Gerald McBoing Boing short cartoon won an Academy Award.
