Perpetual Commotion from Goldbrick Games

Saturday June 5, 2004
Goldbrick Games, a new family-owned game company, is shipping its first release, Perpetual Commotion. Perpetual Commotion finds 2 to 6 players involved in a hand-flying, card-slapping, pile-building card game.

According to a company press release, the object of Perpetual Commotion is simple, but mastery is hard... Play your cards -- as many and as fast as you can -- into a common arena. To win a round, you must be the first to empty your Feeders pile. The first player to score 150 points wins the game.

Each of the six decks of cards (each player gets his own deck) is a different color, making it easy to identify each player’s wins and losses. Also included is an 8-sided die and easy-to-follow rules. Perpetual Commotion plays in about 45 minutes.

"Many years ago, when Perpetual Commotion was just our own private family game, I'm not sure any of us dreamed we'd be at this point," said company co-founder Seth Blaine. "As time went on, and as many an innocent became addicted to the game, we saw we had something special. Something we're thrilled to finally bring to game players everywhere."

To support Perpetual Commotion's release, Goldbrick Games is implementing a comprehensive marketing program, including targeted advertising to select colleges (more than 100 in the first year), a retail support program, and sponsored tournaments. In the fall of 2004, Goldbrick Games will also have a promotional DVD ready for retailers to use in in-store promotions.
