Tongiaki - Interview with Designer Thomas Rauscher

Sunday May 16, 2004
Tongiaki is deceptively simple and full of small decisions that add up to either success or failure. Players begin by placing ships on the island of Tonga, from which they explore the sometimes dangerous waters of the South Pacific in search of additional islands. In this interview with game designer Thomas Rauscher, he says Tongiaki "started with the basic idea that the game should have a cooperative part -- so crossing the ocean with other players should be easier than alone."
